Salvage Revives Atlanta’s Love for Vintage One Vendor at a Time

Atlanta, GA – We all know that one man’s trash may be another man’s treasure but thanks
to the Indie Craft Experience every vendor at Salvage will be as good as gold. Salvage, a
unique modern vintage marketplace focused on bringing affordable and one-of-a-kind finds
to Atlanta, will be April 14, 2012 at Ambient Plus Studio in Atlanta.
Salvage, the newest and most exciting vintage and retro-inspired curated marketplace, is an
incredible experience for a first time thrifter or a welcomed breath of fresh air for seasoned
antique enthusiasts. Complete with a juried Upcycle Mason Jar Competition where
contestants artfully repurpose the Mason Jar, Salvage is truly an ode to all wonderful things
from another time.
For Christy Petterson and Shannon Mulkey, the Atlanta based entrepreneurs behind the
Indie Craft Experience, Salvage stems from their passion for craftsmanship from a different
era. “We have a such an admiration for fashion and décor from the past,” said Mulkey. “We
want Salvage to be the re-emergence of the quality vintage marketplace with affordable
pieces.”
The selected vendors will be selling everything from mid century furnishings and
collectables to clothing, jewelry, books and home goods. With hopes to appeal to everyone’s
inner collector and bargain hunter, Salvage has sifted through all of the trash to bring you
the treasure.

Flatiron Bar Raises Their Glass to Families First
Flatiron in East Atlanta Village Partners with Families First

Atlanta, GA – The Flatiron might appear to be a little rough around the edges but this month they’re proving that they’re soft in the middle after all. Beginning with a kick-off party on March 8th at 8 PM and extending through March 14 2012, the Flatiron will be hosting We’ll Drink To That: Flatiron and Families First. During this time, $1 of every shot of Jagermeister or Fireball purchased will be donated to Families First, an organization dedicated to helping provide solutions to families and children facing challenging hardships.
When the Flatiron first learned of regular customer, Greg Hall, and his volunteerism with Families First they immediately knew they wanted to help take his efforts to the next level. “Greg is such a valued part of who the Flatiron is. He’s not just a customer – he’s a friend,” said Christopher Cooper, Flatiron’s General Manager. “He really embodies the spirit of what the Flatiron is all about. We’re about helping our community and having a good time while doing it.”
Families First, a Georgia organization founded in 1890, has the main mission of ensuring success for children who are in jeopardy by empowering their families. Families First has created several successful programs centered on family sustainability, healthy family relationships and child and youth permanency.
Proceeds from the fundraiser will be donated to areas of Families First that are particularly close to Greg Hall’s heart: family counseling as well as transitional and supportive housing, a program that impacts families who have been stricken by homelessness or mental illness.
“We’re excited to see what our customers are able to help us accomplish through We’ll Drink To That: Flatiron and Families First,” said Cooper. “We certainly know they like to drink so we’re looking forward to a huge success!”
